Three killed as truck crushes easy bike in Mymensingh

Three passengers of a battery powered easy bike were killed after it was crushed by a truck in Mymensingh Sadar Upazila. The accident occurred at around 11:30 am Tuesday in the Puliamari area on the Mymensingh Kishoreganj road.
The identities of two of the victims have been confirmed. They are Shila (25), daughter of Abdul Motaleb of Tarakanda Upazila, and Abeda (35), wife of Rafiqul Islam of the Raghurampur area in Shambhuganj.
The information was confirmed to Agamir Somoy by Mymensingh Kotwali Model Police Station Officer in Charge Shibirul Islam.
Quoting eyewitnesses, he said, “At around 11:30 am today, a speeding truck ran over the easy bike in the Puliamari area. One person was killed on the spot. Two other women, who were critically injured, were taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared them dead.”
Officer in Charge Shibirul Islam said, “Efforts are underway to identify all the victims and determine the cause of the accident.”
